Tawny Kitaen
Julie Ellen "Tawny" Kitaen (August 5 1961 - May 7 2021) was an American model, actress and media personality. Her acting career on television began with Malibu (1983) and California Girls (1985). She also appeared in the comedy films The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen has gained a wide recognition for her work in numerous heavy metal music videos including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More" Whitesnake's ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake's ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the late 2000s, Kitaen was first seen on reality TV shows like Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which highlighted Kitaen's battle with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, in the year 1961. She is the third oldest of three children of Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was a homewife, one-time beauty contest participant as well as Terry Kitaen. Kitaen works as a neon sign maker. Kitaen's mom, who was from Irish as well as Scottish descent was married to Terry Kitaen (an employee of a neon sign company). Her father was Russian Jewish. [3The younger Kitaen was raised within the Jewish religion. Kitaen started using the title "Tawny", at 12 years old, and on her own initiative. [6] She was dyslexic as a young child. This caused her to abandon Mission Bay High School. [7] She was 14 when she saw Penny Frampton perform at Balboa Stadium. [9]
