Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28 1967 in the home of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts who reside in Atlanta. Her father was a young man when he became interested in theater. While a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both at and off the campus. He joined the air force in 1953. During his time being stationed at Biloxi Mississippi, he was a part of a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the air force. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in the year. Walter was studying at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they left the airforce and Walter began his studies at Tulane. Walter was hired as a technician by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to work on the set of the show Bum Bum and His Buddies, which aired in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou financed their own production of a Sunday morning children's show, Bum Bum and His Buddies. The Actors and Writers Workshop was founded in 1964 and ran for 6 years. They had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) and Julia (also known as Julie) during this period.
